The monograph “About the Causes and Challenges of Our Failure” attempts to find answers to some important questions of concern to Armenian society after the Forty-Four-Day War of 2020. One of the questions is why the war broke out in September 2020 and what were the reasons for the failure suffered in the war. The material and non-material, as well as foreign political factors that had a decisive impact in this regard are presented. The other question is how Armenia prepared for the war and whether everything necessary for the country’s economic development and, thereby, security challenges was done during the years of independence. In this regard, emphasis is placed on the reforms carried out in our country during the years of independence and the institutions built as a result of them. And finally, the third of the questions concerns the challenges currently facing us and possible means of responding to them. In this context, the theoretical framework is presented in particular, the application of which can ensure the necessary course of the country’s development. The analysis presented in the book will probably make the reader reflect on the path our country has taken in recent decades and will help him take a fresh look at a number of issues of key importance to our society. The analysis uses tools related to political science, international relations theory, and institutional economics, as well as comprehensive statistics. The analysis presented in the book is built on an apolitical foundation. I have avoided personifying domestic political issues.
