The book narrates about a tragic fate of Nikolai Badmaev, a nephew and apprentice of a well-known Tibet doctor Zhamsaran Badmaev lived in Petersburg. Having graduated from Military Medical Academy, N.Badmaev dedicated his life to Tibet medicine. In 1930s he opened the Department of oriental medicine at the All-Union Institute of Experimental Medicine and then Leningrad clinic of oriental medicine. Intrigues, denunciations and his contacts with high figures many of whom were executed in 1937, caused his arrest and death. The book is based on a number of literary and archival sources.
