The hero and narrator of the novel A Slight Loss of Loneliness is a Jewish boy who survives the extermination camp and the death march and returns to his native Prague at the edge of his mental and physical strength. However, it is May 1945, people are joyfully celebrating the end of the war, and the return of shadows from the past does not fit into this time filled with optimism. The search for lost family, friends and love takes the hero on an unexpectedly difficult path, on which he has to deal with his traumas, anxieties and mistrust of the world around him. And he discovers that the war left irreparable scars not only in him - the post-war world is changing irrevocably and nothing that he dreamed of in captivity will be easy and completely according to his imagination... A suggestive and exciting narrative from a dark period of history is not a lost illusion in this novel just another story about the holocaust, but it deals with the subsequent time and events, about which not much has been written. The book is also a historically faithful document, written according to reality.
