In this book, Bulgarian historian Georgi Markov gives a psychographic description of historic figures. What is the psychology of the army, military leaders, the crowd and the politicians? Why did the Bulgarians often prefer bread over freedom in the past? When you are part of a crowd, you do things which you would never do on your own. There are plenty of examples in Bulgarian history, including the parliamentary crowd. One of the conclusions in the book is that not everyone is lucky enough to live at the right time in history. There are people who were born earlier or later than they should have, and cannot find fulfillment.
