Real heroes don't wear capes, masks, or supernatural powers. If you meet them on the street, you won't recognize them. People as people. And yet, at that decisive moment, when it is necessary to decide which side - good or evil - to stand, if they hesitate, it is only for a moment and, despite the mortal danger, they do what is right.
20th century In the middle of the 20th century, with the outbreak of the Second World War, probably the darkest page in the history of Europe, as well as Lithuania, was opened - the Holocaust. The Nazis, having decided to kill all the Jews, began the mass extermination of this nation. Some people collaborated with the Nazis or remained passive. But not all. This book is about a part of them. Twenty-four true stories about those residents of Lithuania (and foreigners) who, risking their lives and the lives of their families, not only saved the Jews, but still do not allow their faith in man and his selfless kindness to fade.
