Renata is a strange and whimsical name that was given to an ordinary country girl, a half-orphan, who is forced to live under the same roof with an evil stepmother. After school Renata wanted to study somewhere in a big city, but instead, her stepmother and her husband had already determined her fate in advance: after eight years of school study there is work on a collective farm and,then, of course, marriage. But sometimes life unexpectedly throws up surprises. It turns out that Renatka actually lives among strangers, and her own father is somewhere in a distant capital.
