Stepping into the Paneriai Memorial is like stepping into a forest of memory.
Paneri is one of the most significant places of memory of the Second World War in Europe. On the outskirts of Vilnius, a romantic space that was supposed to become a resort turned into a place of mass killings - the Holocaust by shooting and other Nazi crimes against humanity. And later, in 1960 after the establishment of the Museum of Victims of Fascism and in 1977 the memorial is a scene of memory and memory politics, where over the course of eight decades there was always a lack of space for the victims themselves.
