In 2023, we participated in a series of discussions dedicated to the turning points of a century ago: the coup of June 9, the June and September Uprisings. They marked the beginning of a new stage in Bulgarian history and of disputes and confrontations that continue to this day about the manner of its presentation, the selection and evaluation of events and personalities. In this, a particularly important role was played by the various state-organizational, ideological and economic doctrines imposed in the Kingdom of Bulgaria, the People's Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Bulgaria, strongly influenced by changing eternal allies.
Therefore, we dared to offer three histories of the last century, hoping that we would help to understand it more fully through the analysis of known and new data, as well as with explanations and conclusions that were neglected in other studies or made with the usual political bias after each of the changes. Since we are contemporaries and somewhat participants in this history for at least the last fifty years, each individual presentation is influenced by personal beliefs and experience, and therefore does not claim to be the only possible one. Therefore, we will be grateful to anyone who makes suggestions to fill the inevitable gaps and substantiates their views.
