First, it is a naive literature and folklore (the general practice for the European and Russian avant-garde), and secondly, the children’s art (a specific finding of Jewish avant-garde). Kipnis recreates in his tales the structure of children’s narrative, with its seemingly illogical, when fabulous events are mixed with real ones.
