The present publication represents a scientific research work on the history of soviet culture. This edition is dedicated to the first years of soviet power, from 1917 till 1923. The first book touches upon the questions concerning the foundation of soviet cultural policy, reforms in the educational system, changes in the content of education and others. The second book is devoted to the next period in Russian history, from 1923 till 1927. It contains articles viewing the state of culture in the times of NEP, Cultural Revolution and the main questions of general education in that time.
