Kuropatkin Alexey Nikolaevich (1848-1925) was an adjutant general (from 1902), infantry general (from 1900), member of the State Council (from 1898). Participant in military operations in Central Asia 1867-1868, Russian-Turkish 1877-1878, Russian-Japanese 1904-1905. and the First World War, the expedition of French troops to the Sahara Desert of 1874-1875, the Ahal-Tekin expedition of 1880-1881.
