The Church of Boris and Gleb in Kalozha The Church of Boris and Gleb in Kalozha is an architectural pearl of ancient Grodno, in the tradition of Byzantine temple architecture, a unique monument of ancient Orthodox architecture of the 12th century in Belarus and all of Eastern Europe. The Church of Kalozha is located near the Old Grodno Castle, which many centuries ago was the residence of the Grand Duke Vytautas. The Church of Boris and Gleb, the Church of Kalozha, or simply Kolozha is one of the surviving architectural structures of Belarus from the period of Ancient Rus. The only surviving (in a distorted form) monument of Black Russian architecture. It is located on the high bank of the Neman River. Together with the complex of monuments of the Castle Hill, it was declared a historical and architectural reserve. It is among the objects proposed by the Government of Belarus as candidates for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
