The present collection in three parts is based on the results of the international scientific-practical conference "Science for Peace: Potential of Women's Movements" held in April, 28-29 2001 in the context of the IIId International Forum "Women for Life without Wars and Violence". The conference aimed at extending the study of peacemaking problems, increasing the role of peacemaking projects and their practical realization. The four main problems discussed at the conference were "Peacemaking Activity as Object of Scientific Investigations", "Chechen Conflict: Ways Out of Crisis", "Role of Women's Movements in Establishment of Peace and Concord" and "Cooperation of Women's Organizations".
