In this poem, the author pays tribute to the ancient Semigallians: rulers, soldiers, peasants and their wives, who fought fiercely against the Semigallians forcing the people of a foreign Christian faith to the people. In the language of poetry, the author reflects on the ancient events of the 13th century in Zemgale, which are based on historical facts and calls on modern society to follow this heroic example in preserving and updating the ancestral culture and worldview. He honors and deeply respects the heroes of the ancient Semigallians, who gave their lives for the land of their fathers and its rich, glorious material and spiritual culture full of deep symbols.
