"Zafar-name" ("Book of Victories") by Sharaf ad-Din Ali Yazdi is the largest historical work of the Middle Ages, dedicated to the life of the great statesman and commander Amir Temur (1336-1405). It describes the main events of Sahibkiran’s reign, his military actions in the period 1360-1405, including “three-year”, “five-year”, “seven-year” campaigns, battles with the Golden Horde rulers Urus Khan in 1376 and Tokhtamysh Khan in 1389 1391 and 1395, by the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I in 1402, etc. The work of Sharaf ad-Din Ali Yazdi contains extensive information about the social, economic and cultural activities of Amir Temur. This work is translated and published in full for the first time in Russian. Comments to it were prepared on the basis of a wide range of written sources of domestic and foreign scientific literature.
