A mysterious stranger calls the writer with an offer to show him a lost treasure cave where Hetman Mazepa and the Swedish King Charles XII once met. The intrigued author sets off on a journey, where he eventually finds an incredible treasure: a modern partisan gives him an old manuscript of his grandfather's memoirs about the insurgent struggle against the Muscovite occupiers in the 1920s. The past and the present are woven into a mystical tangle, where we will see the reincarnation of the then insurgents in their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
