The involvement of the “weaker sex” in espionage activities can be classified into three large groups according to their motives. The first group included women of “questionable morals” with an undisguised desire for money that would enable them to live a comfortable and luxurious life. An old Spanish proverb says: “Flies do not enter a mouth if it is closed”. That is why spies generally do not like “closed mouths” and will do anything to open them and hear what they want to know. There are numerous examples in which a beautiful and intelligent woman in a passionate love embrace almost always manages to “open the mouth” of a man, as the story of Samson and Delilah testifies to. The female body has proven to be the best “key” for opening safes in which the greatest state secrets are stored. The second group is represented by women who decided to engage in espionage activities out of sincere patriotism, and some for religious reasons, which enabled them to overcome all temptations and dangers and high-risk activities. The third group includes adventurers with the character of Amazons.
