The main purpose of the book is to identify a woman - a criminal standing on the fringes of society, using the analysis of preserved court materials. Women from the lowest social strata were the accused before the capital court in Above, which is relatively rare in Slovak historiography and therefore extremely valuable. The book is innovative in many ways and opens several topics that are even more untouched in our conditions. It is particularly devoted to two important areas of court practice of the time, namely women's sexual relations and accusations of witchcraft. The publication is fully authentic, based to a large extent on the demanding research of multilingual manuscript archival material and its comparison with the results of Slovak and foreign authors.
