Wladyslaw Zwiejski, who came from the Kielce region, was a lawyer, a people's movement activist and a social activist. During the German occupation, he actively worked in the structures of the clandestine People's Party "Roch". He was the co-author of the nationwide organizational instructions of the Peasant Guard and the originator of the new name of the armed organization of the people's activists - the Peasant Battalions. In his memoirs, he also described the political struggle of Polish People's Party activists with the communists and the realities of life in the Polish People's Republic.
