The author presents a new version of the bygone events which took place on the territory of Eurasia and Northern Africa from the last glaciation till the late Middle Ages, reconstructed on the basis of linguistic studies, primarily, phonetic analysis. The most ancient words of the protolanguage of the Indo-Europeans are compared with toponyms, theonyms, anthroponyms, mentioned in the ancient writings and chronicles, and with the last data of archaeological science.
