The monograph “We are the Kyrgyz” by Zh. Saadanbekov is the result of his intellectual work, which is devoted to the analysis of the ethnic, religious, linguistic and subethnic identity of the Kyrgyz and is shown in the context of the evolution of the life of a relatively small Kyrgyz people. The author presents the history of the national identity of the Kyrgyz, starting from the traditional nomadic society, staying within the Russian Empire and the Soviet period to the existence of the Kyrgyz under the conditions of independence.
