Vereshchagin, the 210th anniversary The Patriotic War of 1812 and the 145th anniversary of the beginning of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878. Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin (26 October 1842 – 13 April 1904) was a Russian war artist. The graphic nature of his realist scenes led to many of them never being printed or exhibited.
