"Gradskoto planirane na Sofiia prez prekhoda (1990 - 2010)" ("Urban Planning of Sofia During the Transition (1990-2010)" is the first book in Bulgaria which studies the subject of urban planning processes in the capital of Bulgaria – Sofia during the difficult period of transition in Bulgaria from communist ruling to market economy – 1990-2010 when big hopes and expectations were followed by big disappointments. This great potential for development of Sofia with the beginning of changes was not realized. One of the biggest factors for the city's development in this period was the privatization and the restitution which in most of the cases were unlawful and against the citizens' interests.
This book presents a solid scientific work but at the same time it is an interesting reading both for the specialists and for the wider range of readers. The author here objectively and professional traces the urban planning development of the capital during the transition and studies all of the closely connected processes on the territory of Sofia.
