In the book How the Tatra Tiger Sneaked, I tried to disprove the myth that Slovakia will be better off if politicians stop stealing. In this book, I will address the disastrous consequences of what happens when we forget that even value leaders from "our" camp must master the craft of politics.
It is not enough to be a good person to do good in governing the state. It is neither a competitive advantage nor a guarantee of more successful public administration. It is not enough to defeat Fico and win the election. It is even more important to be able to hold power, create alliances, make compromises and invest political capital wisely. This book will not be about the political ulcers that came to power in the 2020 parliamentary elections. It will be about decent politicians who paved their way to success unwittingly and unwittingly. It will be about the unintended consequences of the decisions that shaped Slovak politics into its current absurd form. It will be about the fact that it is not enough to want to be good, fair and decent in politics. It will be about politicians I respect. About Iveta Radicova, Andrej Kisk, Mir Beblav and Michal Truban. About the people for whom I worked and whom I helped to become gravediggers of Slovak politics.
