The book discusses different periods in Ukrainian history (1917-2001) reflecting various forms of statehood in the country. It includes documents and materials from the Central State Archive and the Governmental Archive of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Among the documents are ukases, laws, decrees, resolutions, orders, instructions, protocols, excerpts from protocols, reports, correspondence, statements by presidents and heads of government of the Ukrainian state in the Parliament, at conferences, interviews with radio and television correspondents concerning the work of the government, its structure, and the division of powers among members of the government. The greater part of the documents are presented here in a scholarly manner for the first time, among them are originals, certified and non-certified copies, and typed copies.
