The period of 1921-1938 in Ukraine can be divided into two parts - the new economic policy and development of the Soviet regime in the country. The main conception of this economic policy is presented in the proposed book. Causes and consequences of Bolshevik rule that leaded to the 'great change' of the 1930s, collectivization of villages and holocaust in Ukraine in 1933 are reflected. Results of social industrialization in the country are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the Ukrainians' struggle for national identity and culture.
