Nikolai Andreevich Cherkashin is a well-known Russian seascape writer, a Belarusian by birth, the author of a large number of books about submariners, the events of the Great Patriotic War. Winner of many literary awards, awarded orders and medals.
Member of the Belarusian Union of Military Sailors, the Union of Writers of Belarus and Russia. Flipping through the pages of his mother's diary, looking at old photographs in the family album, Nikolai Cherkashin in his story leads the reader through the places of post-war childhood. His father, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, served in the Belarusian military district until 1962: Pleschenitsy, Volkovysk, Slonim, Shchuchin, Smorgon, Baranovichi. The events of those years were imprinted in the author's memory for the rest of his life and formed the basis of the book "Transitional Age", written in a figurative language that retained the shades of lively colloquial speech.
