The professional training of future journalists in the higher education system of the United States as a scientific and pedagogical problem is highlighted. The organizational and pedagogical principles of professional training of future journalists in US universities are revealed. A comparative and pedagogical analysis of professional training of future journalists at US and Ukrainian universities has been performed. Possibilities of using constructive ideas of the American experience of professional training of future journalists in the conditions of university education of Ukraine are outlined.
