In the monograph the whole range of problems devoted to the Russian trade via Astrakhan with Northern Caucasus, theTranscaucasia, Iran, Turkey and Middle Asia is disclosed. The author A.I.Iukht also considers European-Iranian trade via Russia. On the basis of a unique collection of Astrakhan customs books and archival documents the specific picture of the trade development was renewed and examination of the range and structure of the export and import, volume and dynamics of trade turnover and a number of other issues related to transient trade was made.
