The first part of the present book tells about history of origin, development and prosperity of the greatest Russian fair, as well as architectural church and trade complexes in Makarievo and Nizhny Novgorod. Among illustrations there is those days' graphics, such as drafts-projects, drawings and the complexes' panoramas, including archival documents. The second part consists of stories, outlines and articles about Nizhy Novgorod dwellers of the XVIth - XIXth centuries.
