This book comprises the original version of “Thing and Name” and never published in the lifetime of a great Russian philosopher A.F. Losev “The Quintessence of Thing”. In contrast to an earlier “The philosophy of the Name” that states the initial postulates, final conclusions and internal structure of his philosophy, these works present the main principle of this theory – the name of a thing is the thing itself but not vice versa. The texts of this edition are collated with the archive original.
