The first of the three books of the series "The XXth-Century Kalmyk Literature" traces the evolution of artistic prose starting from pioneer authors' experiences up to the end of the XXth century. The authoress touches upon problems of the formation of a new system of genres, as well as the birth of narrative traditions that determine Kalmyk national worldview. R.
