The book considers the conceptual metaphor “the world is a theater” and the forms of its implementation in early modern times. It describes the prerequisites for the metaphorization of the concept of "theater" and analyses features of theater that underlie metaphor. There is a special text alliance "book theaters" in the center research, to which includes thematically heterogeneous books of the 15th-18th centuries, containing in the blank the Latin lexeme "theatrum" or its equivalents in national languages.
