The painted original is an undeniable testimony that does not know how to remake and beautify earlier memories. Photography is a fact in its nudity and rawness. Impartial testimony and, in that respect, the value of photography is equal to the value of excavated cities, statues, graves. It stops time and puts us in close contact with nature. Good use of photography without editing ugly and monstrous "favorite" tricks means, in a sense, introducing honesty into history.
