The book includes a long epic poem by the well-known contemporary Bulgarian poet, critic and publisher Ivan Granitski and critical comments by culturologist Ivan Marazov. The poem "The Thracian Horseman" is about the war hero of the ancient Thracians. The author's rich erudition fuels his poetic imagination. He "sees" the character, recognizes him among hundreds of names and thousands of faces. Just as in other long poems, Granitski reveals the ultimate meaning of a hero's feats: they bring him glory, and hence, immortality. The poem is aimed to revive the memory of the ancient Thracian warriors and to make us Bulgarians proud of them.
