Initially, the stories of the heroes of journalistic essays appeared on the pages of the Brest Courier newspaper as part of the Brest Family Tree project. Each week, the author provided the reader with the opportunity to get acquainted with the new personality, its fate. The book included 57 essays. Unexpectedly for the author, the son of one of the heroes of his essay, Jack Greenberg, who lives in the United States in the city of Los Angeles, was alive. In1925, his father Solomon Greenberg built a pharmacy on Sovetskaya Street, which still works today. The son of 80-year-old Jack, Stephen Greenberg, visited Brest in the late 90s, got acquainted with the essay about his grandfather, and told his father. The old man was moved to tears and asked to convey thanks to the author.
