Living Conditions Survey was simultaneously conducted in all three Baltic countries in October 1999. In Latvia, 3081 households were surveyed. The survey program is extensive. It includes the conditions of housing and places of residence, the composition of a household, the employment of its members, information about economic resources of a household and their self-assessments, working conditions of the employed, the state of health of respondents, their attitude to crime and safety of a person in the society, about migration, attitudes, values and political views, and about social contacts among members of the society.
