The Slovak Mafia is the most comprehensive treatment of the history of organized crime in Slovakia from the fall of Communism to the present. Author Jan Petrovic has been dealing with the topic of the Slovak mafia since the beginning of his journalistic career. In the preparation of the 400-plus-page publication, he spoke with mafiosos who had survived to recall accounts in the underworld, ended up behind bars, or are free today. He was in places where there were explosions and other violent crimes. He visited sites where the underworld bred white horses [proxies] and got rid of uncomfortable witnesses. He studied dozens of court files and consulted investigators, lawyers and prosecutors. The book's bonuses include previously unpublished photographs, a map of the Mafia clans, unique infographics and a register of members, victims and fighters against organized crime with over 600 items. Part of the book are exclusive interviews with men who stood on opposite sides of the battlefield - boss of bosses Mikulas Cernak and police president Milan Lucansky.
