The Novohrad County has not enjoyed the interest of Slovak historians for a long time despite the fact that there was a dense settlement already in the early Middle Ages and for a long time the Slovak ethnic group existed there. Tomas Sitar tried to describe the prehistoric and early medieval settlement of Novohrad, which was formed here before the era and, of course, he concentrated on the early and high Middle Ages.
