The author analyzes the revival and activation of the Rusyn movement after the collapse of Socialism in Czechoslovakia and Russia, consisting in the rejection of Ukrainian origins of the Eastern Slavic population of Transcarpathia and Eastern Slovakia, and self-identification of the Rusyns as a separate Slavonic nation.
