The book provides an informative and analytical assessment of the most important socio-political processes that took place in the late 1980s and the first two decades of the 21st century - processes that are significant in form but sometimes tragic in content for the fate of the Ossetian people. The central theme of the book is the author's conclusion - drawn from his experience as an active participant in those events - about the impossibility of preventing national degradation without achieving political unity between the two parts of Ossetia.
