The problems of regional economic integration in the context of national interests of the states constituting the community are analyzed in the title. The author examines the advantages and drawbacks Azerbaijan can get as a result of participation in a number of regional economic associations. Special emphasis is given to Azerbaijan cooperation with Western and Eastern economic communities (European Union, OPEC and so on) while the problem of integration of states with different levels of economic development is deeply analyzed. The monograph presents a lot of statistical data providing comparison of economic showings of CIS countries in the 1990-s and the correlation of these indicators with the degree of the countries participation in regional economic organizations and programs.
