During the inter-war period the Basarabia issue was not only a subject of the Soviet-Romanian diplomatic dispute but because of its international implications it became a "hot" problem of the entire Europe. The authors of the monograph try to analyze objectively a critical situation in Basarabia in the inter-war period caused by the refuse of the USSR to recognize the territory as the part of Romania.
