The monograph is dedicated to the ancient dynasty of rural priests, the Petukhovs, who selflessly served in various parishes of the Kemsky district of the Arkhangelsk province from the beginning of the 1880s until the Soviet era. The author tells about the arduous life path of Alexy Stefanovich Petukhov, the last abbot of the Kizhi churches before the termination of services in the post-revolutionary years. In 1937 he was repressed, taken away from the island and almost immediately shot. The historical narrative is based on little-known and first presented archival sources, published documents, memoirs of contemporaries and eyewitnesses. The book is intended for specialists and all those interested in the history of Orthodoxy in Karelia. The author is Kozhevnikova Yulia Nikolaevna, Doctor of Historical Sciences.
