The research is based on the document from the State Archive of Tobol’sk that reviews the work of the Treasury Chamber - the financial administration of the province in the 1870s. The Treasury Chamber is analyzed within the framework of historical development of the system of government in Siberia with focus on the tax system as its primary sphere of activities.
