The name of Vasyl Marochkin, who at one time was not afraid to become an opponent of the Soviet system by joining the Ukrainian Helsinki Union, is well known to the Ukrainian erudite reader. Historian, whose monographs on the history of medieval Ukraine are kept in the libraries of Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge and other universities of the West, an original poet (author of three poetry books published in Ukraine), a powerful novelist whose works have been published in periodicals of Ukraine, Canada, the USA, Australia, Poland.
