The problem of Kirghiz national self-consciousness and self-awareness rise in the 1980-1990s is shown for the first time in this work. The author explains why the process of national rebirth took so long, was so difficult and abnormal. The work is based on official documents, speeches of the country leaders, on various publications taken from newspapers, magazines, letters received by the editorial office. A lot of political events connected with national movement in the republic are also analyzed in this work.
