This is a book about Bulgaria's First Cavalry Division, which was active during World War I and helped liberate the region of Dobrudzha from Romanian rule. In the Battle of Carapelit-Kochmar in September 1916, small units of First Cavalry Division defeated Romanian forces that were 10 times their size. On September 5-7, 1916, the Division played a decisive role in the Battle of Dobrich. Stoyan Tachev researched his book for many years. He presents his findings in a highly readable narrative.
