The study analyzes the historiography of the industrialization of the Komi region of the predominantly "Khrushchev" period of the USSR. Studied and put into scientific circulation unique a half-century-old manuscript that first covers aspects of Soviet industrialization in the Komi Autonomous Region, including the forced labor of prisoners of the USSR Gulag - a forgotten archival scientific report of the History Department of the Komi Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1967. A thorough analysis of the manuscript, revealed the features of its formation, eliminated the actual, historical and geographical errors and errors of researchers of that time - all this will significantly expand the modern historiography of this issue.
