The book is devoted to an in-depth study of the phenomenon of the "image of the enemy" as a component of the social consciousness of the participants in the war. Its essence, content, functions and principles of construction are revealed. The experience of forming the "image of the enemy" in the wars and military-political conflicts of the 20th century that took place on the territory of Ukraine is studied and generalized.
